THE CASE

The case

Why GAVCDD, and why now

No existing global forum treats the agricultural value chain as the place where security, climate, trade, finance and technology meet.

1A strategic gap

Global forums exist for security, for climate, for trade and for finance. None places the farm-to-market chain at the centre of all of them.

2A Global South perspective

Most of the world’s farmers are smallholders in Asia, Africa and Latin America, yet the rules governing their markets, inputs, standards and data are largely written elsewhere. GAVCDD speaks from the farmer’s side of the chain.

3A cooperative alternative

Through WCOOPEF, GAVCDD advances the Cooperative Economic Framework, in which farmers collectively own processing, storage, logistics and markets.

4The International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026

Women grow much of the world’s food yet hold a small share of its land, credit and technology. GAVCDD places them at the centre of the agenda.

5A resilience imperative

Under CSRNAM, GAVCDD treats economic coercion and supply-chain dependence as modern pressure points. A food-secure, farmer-owned value chain is part of a resilient nation and essential to Viksit Bharat 2047.
