CNRI Advisory Council
— Experience, Wisdom and Strategic Insight
The Advisory Council is one of the most distinguished pillars of CNRI’s governance framework. It brings together eminent personalities from public administration, academia, agriculture, cooperative institutions, industry, finance, law, public policy, science, rural development and civil society to provide independent strategic guidance.

Role of the Advisory Council
As a high-level advisory body, the Council does not participate in day-to-day management. Instead, it offers informed perspectives, domain expertise and strategic counsel to the Governing Leadership and the Secretary General on issues of national importance, institutional development and emerging opportunities for the voluntary sector.
Two Decades of Contribution
For nearly two decades, the Advisory Council has helped shape CNRI’s growth from a national platform for rural NGOs into a respected institution engaged in policy dialogue, capacity building and rural transformation. Its collective experience has strengthened governance, expanded partnerships and promoted innovation. Over the years, the Council has helped CNRI to:
- Strengthen institutional governance and organisational credibility.
- Promote constructive engagement with government and public institutions.
- Encourage policy dialogue on rural development and community empowerment.
- Support capacity building of NGOs, SHGs, cooperatives and Farmer Producer Organisations.
- Facilitate strategic partnerships with national and international organisations.
- Promote research, innovation and knowledge-based solutions for rural India.
- Uphold the values of transparency, accountability and ethical leadership.
A Strategic Think Tank
As CNRI enters its third decade, the Advisory Council continues to serve as a strategic think tank — helping the organisation anticipate future challenges, identify new opportunities and strengthen its contribution to Viksit Bharat 2047 through inclusive, sustainable and community-led rural development.
