Media representatives including journalists, photographers and videographers who are not part of official delegations, must apply for accreditation through the United Nations Media Accreditation and Liaison Unit (MALU) online form (https://indico.un.org/UNHQ/#media). When completing the form, applicants should select Temporary Pass in the Pass Details section and enter the conference title and dates in the Assignment fields. Applicants will be required to submit a letter of assignment from a bona fide media organization addressed to the United Nations, samples of their work, and a government issued identification. Independent broadcast or film production companies must provide a letter from a broadcast organization or film distributor which has committed to air or distribute the work. More information about the general accreditation process for media can be found here: https://www.un.org/en/media/accreditation/request.shtml
Media representatives who are a part of official delegations, including journalists and official photo and video, must be registered through their respective permanent/observer mission or liaison office in New York through the online “eRegistration system”, which is available on the e-deleGATE portal at https://e-delegate.un.org. Designated e-Registration focal points may refer to the instructions: https://www.un.org/en/media/accreditation/pdf/eRegistration_guide_media_passes.pdf. Spokespersons, communications advisers, and information officers without camera equipment do not need to apply for a media pass.
Delegation media personnel seeking on-site registration will be instructed to submit the request through their respective permanent/observer mission or liaison office in New York via the online eRegistration system. Please note that on-site registration is not possible for media that are not part of official delegations.
- Registration deadline: 13 November 2026
- Online onsite registration in Abu Dhabi for delegation media only: 3 December 2026
