Leadership and Local Coordination

Each District Chapter is led by a District Executive Committee, supported by a District Executive Director (or District Coordinator) who coordinates day-to-day activities. Working closely with the State Executive Director, they serve as the principal coordinating officer for member organisations, SHGs, FPOs, cooperatives, and youth and women’s groups within the district.

Rapid Response to Local Challenges

Because District Chapters are embedded in local communities, they can mobilise member organisations, volunteers and partners quickly — whether responding to natural disasters, public-health emergencies, livelihood disruptions or agricultural challenges. Strong relationships with district administrations, Panchayati Raj Institutions and local institutions enable fast, coordinated action.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinating the activities of member organisations within the district.
• Organising monthly meetings, consultations and networking programmes.
• Identifying local development priorities and emerging community needs.
• Promoting collaboration among NGOs, SHGs, FPOs and cooperatives.
• Strengthening partnerships with district administration and Panchayati Raj Institutions.
• Supporting implementation of state and national initiatives at the grassroots.
• Documenting successful models and sharing best practices with the State Chapter.

Together with the National Secretariat and State Chapters, the District Network forms an integrated three-tier system that ensures national vision, state-level coordination and district-level action — making CNRI one of India’s most responsive, community-driven civil society networks.
