CSRNAM 2026

Civil Society Resilience and National Awareness Mission

CNRI has declared 2026 the year of the Civil Society Resilience and National Awareness Mission (CSRNAM), with the theme “Building Resilient Communities in the Era of Fourth-Generation Warfare.” It recognises that national security today extends far beyond the battlefield — into information, technology, social cohesion and public trust.

Why Community Resilience Matters Now

Fourth-Generation Warfare (4GW) blurs the line between war and peace, and between combatant and civilian. Its instruments are misinformation, cyber threats, psychological influence and attempts to erode trust in institutions. In this environment, an informed and cohesive civil society is not a soft asset — it is a strategic national defence. CSRNAM positions India’s voluntary sector as a trusted partner in safeguarding social harmony and democratic resilience.

What CSRNAM Will Do in 2026

Throughout 2026, CNRI will mobilise its nationwide network of NGOs to strengthen public awareness and build community resilience. Priority actions include:

  • Promoting digital and media literacy so citizens can identify and resist misinformation.
  • Encouraging ethical, transparent civil-society practices that reinforce public trust.
  • Fostering social harmony and constitutional values at the community level.
  • Building local capacity to respond to cyber threats, rumours and divisive influences.
  • Reinforcing responsible citizenship and the role of civil society in nation-building.
How Your Organisation Can Take Part

CSRNAM is a national effort that depends on grassroots reach. Member NGOs, State and District Chapters, educational institutions, youth groups and community leaders can host awareness drives, run media-literacy sessions, and document local resilience models that inform national learning. CNRI’s National Secretariat coordinates these efforts and channels community feedback into policy dialogue.
