Shri Sitaram Gupta is the National President of the Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI), providing strategic leadership to one of India’s leading networks of voluntary organizations dedicated to rural development, social justice, and community empowerment. Under his guidance, CNRI continues to strengthen grassroots institutions, promote sustainable livelihoods, and foster collaborative partnerships between civil society, government, cooperatives, and the private sector.

A committed social leader with a deep understanding of community development, Shri Gupta has consistently advocated for inclusive growth, rural entrepreneurship, skill development, education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and financial inclusion. He believes that strong community institutions and active citizen participation are essential to achieving sustainable rural transformation and equitable national development.

As National President, he is focused on expanding CNRI’s national footprint, enhancing the capacity of member organizations, and promoting innovation, transparency, and accountability in the voluntary sector. He actively encourages partnerships that leverage technology, cooperative models, and grassroots leadership to create meaningful social impact across rural and underserved communities.
