Gulzar Ahmad Wani is a distinguished social development leader and grassroots institution builder with decades of experience in community welfare and rural development in Jammu and Kashmir.Under his leadership, the organization has implemented skill development programmes in tailoring, Sozni embroidery, handloom weaving, and Pashmina spinning, while also providing long-term support through childcare, family counselling, disaster relief, and community rehabilitation initiatives.

As National Vice President and head of Himalyan states  of the Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI), Gulzar Ahmad Wani provides strategic leadership in strengthening the voluntary sector across the Union Territory. He actively promotes rural livelihoods, women and youth empowerment, artisan development, cooperative values, and sustainable community development by fostering partnerships among civil society organizations, government institutions, and local communities. His commitment to inclusive development, social harmony, and grassroots empowerment continues to strengthen CNRI’s mission of building resilient and self-reliant rural communities throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
