G.H. Ahmad Paray Hamraz is a distinguished social worker and community leader from Budgam, Jammu & Kashmir, who has dedicated his life to the empowerment of artisans and the promotion of sustainable rural livelihoods. Through his persistent efforts, he has worked to connect traditional artisans with wider markets, helping preserve indigenous craftsmanship while improving the economic well-being of artisan families.

Associated with the Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI) for over 20 years, Mr. Hamraz has played an active role in strengthening grassroots institutions, promoting rural development initiatives, and advancing community participation across Jammu & Kashmir. His long-standing association with CNRI reflects his commitment to inclusive development, social harmony, and nation-building through civil society.

Currently serving as National Vice President of CNRI, he provides strategic leadership in expanding the organization’s outreach, fostering partnerships with voluntary organizations, and supporting programmes focused on livelihood generation, skill development, rural entrepreneurship, and artisan empowerment.

With extensive grassroots experience and a deep understanding of the socio-economic challenges faced by rural communities, Mr. Hamraz continues to champion initiatives that promote self-reliance, cultural heritage, and sustainable development.
