Dr. U. Homiga is a distinguished social development professional, academician, and cooperative leader committed to strengthening civil society institutions and promoting inclusive rural development. With over 25 years of experience in capacity building, community leadership, and institutional development, she has worked extensively with NGOs, cooperatives, educational institutions, and government agencies across India.

As National Vice President of the Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI), she is actively engaged in promoting participatory governance, women’s empowerment, youth leadership, sustainable livelihoods, and grassroots institutional development. She believes in building strong partnerships between civil society, government, and community organizations to accelerate equitable and sustainable development.

Dr. Homiga currently serves as Faculty and Head of the MBA Department at the Natesan Institute of Cooperative Management (NICM), Chennai, under the National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. She continues to inspire and mentor development professionals while advancing cooperative values, social innovation, and community-led initiatives across Tamil Nadu and beyond.
