Dr. Kamal Taori, IAS (Retd.), is a distinguished former Secretary to the Government of India, renowned for his exemplary contributions to rural development, public administration, Panchayati Raj, and institutional governance. Before joining the Indian Administrative Service, he served with distinction in the Indian Army, reflecting a lifelong commitment to national service. Throughout his illustrious career, he held several key positions, including District Collector, Divisional Commissioner, Secretary to the Government of India, Director General of CAPART, and Secretary of the North Eastern Council, where he spearheaded transformative initiatives for inclusive and sustainable development. An accomplished author, thinker, and institution builder, Dr. Taori has written over 40 books on governance, rural entrepreneurship, leadership, and self-reliance.
