
Dr. Rajesh Mehta
Co-Chairman, Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI)
Dr. Rajesh Mehta is an eminent technocrat, global peace advocate, and distinguished civil society leader serving as the Co-Chairman of the Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI). An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, with B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in Systems and Management, he has devoted his career to strengthening international goodwill, interfaith dialogue, youth leadership, and sustainable development through people-centric institutions.
Widely recognized for his contributions to global friendship and cultural diplomacy, Dr. Mehta has been honoured with several prestigious international recognitions, including the Global Citizen Award (2017), an Honorary Doctorate from Tashkent Professional College of Communication (2012), the Certificate of Honour from the Council of Friendship Societies of Uzbekistan (2013), and the Diploma of Honour from the India-Bhutan Friendship Association (2016).
Over the years, he has held several significant leadership positions in prominent national and international organizations. He serves as Secretary General of the Unity International Foundation, promoting global friendship through people-to-people diplomacy; President of the NRI Vertical of the BRICS Chamber, strengthening engagement between the Indian diaspora and national development; Chief Advisor of GOPIO Delhi/NCR Chapter; Member of the Advisory Council of The Temple of Understanding India Foundation; Trustee of the Tagore Foundation; former Chairman of the Gandhi Seva & Satyagraha Brigade; and previously served as Senior Coordinator (Programmes) at Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, where he contributed to Gandhian education, peace initiatives, and community development.

He actively supports CNRI’s mission of empowering voluntary organizations, promoting inclusive rural development, fostering national integration, encouraging youth participation, and strengthening India’s civil society institutions.
